Dear Customers,

We launched Amazon.in on June 5, 2013, with a vision to transform the way India buys and sells. On our fifth anniversary in India, I want to say thank you for your support and for making Amazon.in the most visited shopping site in India for the last two years.

The progress is energizing. Customers from 100% of serviceable pin codes in India have placed orders on Amazon, thanks to local innovations such as Udaan and I Have Space. Hundreds of thousands of Indian businesses now sell on Amazon.in. Programs like Chai Cart, Tatkal, and Saheli have helped bring small businesses and local artisans across all of India to start selling online. Prime-eligible selection for free delivery in India now includes tens of millions of local products.

We introduced Alexa in India late last year and she already offers more than 15,000 skills and features – from the latest news, listening to music, playing bhajans, voice shopping, or even ordering a cab. There are tens of thousands of third party developers expanding Alexa’s capabilities for our Indian customers. Our Kindle Book Store now offers eBooks in five Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi and Malayalam. And we are working with top Indian talent on a dozen new Prime Original series, including Breathe, which has become popular not just in India but across the globe.

Amazon ships packages from more than 50 fulfillment locations in 13 states, and our teams are becoming part of many local communities – from providing lighting for rural homes to assisting with local environmental projects.

We’re five years into our journey, but as we say here at Amazon, it’s still Day 1, and I’m energized and humbled by the opportunities ahead. Amazon.in is “India ki apni dukaan.

To celebrate our five year anniversary and to say thank you for your support, we want to extend this offer: If you spend Rs.1000 or more on Amazon.in today, using any digital payment method, you’ll receive Rs.250* as cash back Amazon Pay balance.
