As we lean in to respond with urgency to the current crisis situation of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative to ensure the necessary medical supplies can be brought in and reach where they are most needed in the most efficient way. Amazon is therefore leveraging its technology enabled logistics network that connects every post code of the country to ensure speed and reliability for the transportation of life-saving cargo across 17 states and counting, in India.

Backed by its global and domestic logistics network, Amazon is enabling cross border movement of urgent medical supplies and equipment both globally and within the country, helping organizations and NGOs to move these swiftly into India.

Amazon has also extended its Transportation network in India to other organizations to manage domestic movement of COVID-19 relief supplies such as Oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines, oximeters and other medical gear to those that need them the most. This provides much needed speed and reliability to NGOs partners and other organizations for the transportation of their donations.

So far, the Amazon transportation network has enabled the movement of more than 14000 medical equipment like oxygen concentrators, BiPAP machines etc into India. Amazon has worked in collaboration with NGO partners such as Give India, ACT Grant, local Government bodies and industry bodies like USIBC to help in international and local transportation of critical medical supplies. Medical equipment and supplies including Oxygen concentrator, oximeters, thermometers and BiPAP machines are being distributed across India including remote towns such as Mau, Ballia, Azamgarh, Madikeri and Jaunpur among others using Amazon Transportation Services.

In addition, Amazon’s business in Europe has also committed over $2.5 million to support people in India impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, by purchasing and transporting medical supplies. Amazon will deliver oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and nebulisers and inhalation devices to Amazon frontline workers and local charities to help those infected with COVID-19 across multiple cities in India, thereby supporting the capacity of hospitals, medical facilities and public institutions.
