At Amazon India, there has been a consistent focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in our workforce where unique perspectives are valued and welcomed. Over the years, several initiatives have been launched to help achieve our goal to create a truly balanced workforce. Some of the examples include our women-operated and owned delivery station in Chennai and Kadi, Gujarat; delivery partner stations run and managed by transgender individuals; silent delivery stations in Mumbai; and an all-women Virtual Customer Service (VCS) facility in Bengaluru.

Similarly, back in August 2019, Amazon India had launched a Military Veterans Employment program to create hundreds of opportunities for military veterans and their spouses across Amazon India’s fulfilment network, cross India. This was done in partnership the Army Welfare Placement Organization (AWPO) to create continued work opportunities for military veterans and their families across India.

Now, Amazon India is further strengthening its commitment to provide ex-service personnel with work opportunities across its growing operations network in India by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR). This MoU with the DGR will further enable Amazon India to mobilize the untapped potential of veterans, giving it access to a greater talent pipeline.

We are humbled to work with the DGR and be able to share workspace with our veterans from the Army, Air force, Navy, and their families.
