In line with its vision to empower and enable weavers and artisans to showcase ‘Made in India’ products to customers across the country, Amazon today announced the launch of ‘Handcrafted, With Love’ to celebrate Karigars and art forms of India. Amazon’s Karigar program gives prominence to India’s rich handicrafts heritage by exclusively promote handlooms and handicrafts from across the country, by partnering with 25 government emporiums and 5 government bodies, master weavers, co-operatives, artisans and APEX bodies (including National Award-winning weavers).

Karigar program positively impacts the lives of over 10 lakh artisans and weavers, from over 20 states and union territories. Over the years, more than 2,500 master weavers, co-operatives, artisans and government organizations under various Ministries like Textiles, Cottage Industries, Tribal Welfare, among others have been on-boarded on A.in to sell online. Sellers associated with Amazon Karigar showcase over 92,000 products, including 270+ unique arts and crafts from various parts of the country, and the diverse range of products come with interesting stories of their own.

The Karigar program further encourages the revival of indigenous arts and crafts, while providing local sellers a platform to list and sell their merchandise online to a larger consumer base. The Karigar store on A.in is a dedicated storefront for sellers under the Karigar program that aims to give prominence to India’s rich handicrafts heritage by enabling weavers and artisans to showcase ‘Made in India’ products to customers. It exclusively promotes handlooms and handicrafts from across the country, in line with Amazon’s vision of transforming the way India buys and sells. The Karigar store also educates consumers about traditional handicrafts while allowing them to purchase these on the Amazon.in platform.
