Vijaitha T manages the India Operations for Catalog Management in the Retail Business Services team at Amazon India. The Retail Business Services team is an integral part of Amazon India’s online product life-cycle and buying operations. Her team works to ensure that the organization remains competitive in the country’s online retail space with the best prices, the widest selection of goods and helpful product information. The nature of the work Vijaitha and her team handle at Amazon has a very direct impact on consumer purchase decisions as well as on online shopping experiences. “In that sense, therefore, whatever we do at Amazon is customer-centric—exactly the reason why we place the customer at the heart of every decision,” Vijaitha shares.

I love my work, especially because it allows for personal time-outs that are particularly important for young families like mine. In return, I’m able to remain invested in my work with passion and dedication.
One wonders how she has been able to juggle such a demanding career, however exciting, along with an equally demanding home front. “As a working mother of an active seven-year-old, it is extremely important to have a conducive and supportive environment—both at home as well as at work”, says Vijaitha, “in addition to my wonderful family, who is always there for me with a helping hand, I consider myself lucky to have found just such a caring working milieu at Amazon!”
